Rungfa Kulachai

Known as the Master of Modern Lam Plearn, Rungfa Kulachai has spent over 40 years shaping the sound of Lam Plearn, a joyful, poetic vocal style native to Northeastern Thailand. Rungfa’s signature storytelling fuses traditional Thai literature with Isaan folk rhythms, celebrating folk heroes through sung poetry.

Rungfa was named an Isaan Heritage Artist in 2014 by Khon Kaen University. He continues his cultural custodianship by mentoring the next generation of Lam Plearn artists.
