Japanese Jodo Shinshuu Buddhist monk and beatmaker TA2MI blends spiritual, traditional and contemporary sounds in his original music that explores the intersections of rhythm, melody, and texture, creating immersive sonic landscapes that captivate listeners.
Drawing inspiration from a wide range of electronic genres, as well as from the natural world and Buddhism, TA2MI has gained global recognition by crafting tracks that are not only rhythmically complex, but also rich in atmosphere and feeling; characterized by a mindfulness-led approach that is thought-provoking and deeply engaging.
As part of the Sonic Minds takeover at Ancestral Forest, he will perform a special set featuring processed recordings from the fields made in Sonic Minds Camp 2024, in collaboration with MSCTY’s Nick Luscombe and James Greer.
