Sonic Minds Lab: A weekend of listening, sound and shared exploration

On 13-14 June 2026, Sonic Minds Lab presents a two-day programme of immersive sound experiences, showcasing the evolving projects and approaches of Sonic Minds that explore the connections between sound, space and social well-being.

Across the weekend, audiences are invited to step inside the creative process behind Sonic Minds through performances, screenings, conversations and participatory sessions. Tune into the concepts, philosophies, and experiments that inform each work, while meeting the artists and collaborators behind them, and take part in the development of new sonic experiences still unfolding. From The Fields and experiments across Bangkok and beyond, Sonic Minds has journeyed through both natural and man-made soundscapes, diving into the inner worlds of artists and audiences alike to explore how sound can shape our connection to the world around us.

About Sonic Minds

Sonic Minds is an interdisciplinary initiative created by Wonderfruit in collaboration with James Greer and Nick Luscombe of MSCTY_Studio, exploring the relationship between Mind, Nature and Sound. Bringing together musicians, scientists, artists, researchers and spiritual practitioners, Sonic Minds creates immersive sound experiences, installations and gatherings that investigate how listening can influence perception, presence and well-being.

Each activation will consider the ways sound can support personal and collective connection, bridging ritual, environmental listening, modern science and contemporary life. From The Fields to experiences beyond Wonderfruit, Sonic Minds will continue shaping spaces where sound becomes a pathway for reflection, restoration and shared experience.

The Programme

Leading up to the 11th edition of our annual gathering, Sonic Minds Lab offers past participants a chance to reflect on what we’ve created so far, while giving newcomers an opportunity to understand the ideas, research, and creative approaches behind our work. Participants will have the chance to explore these concepts through sound installations powered by Elpa Shaw’s Hi-Fi sound system, live performances, screenings, panel discussions, immersive experiences, and opportunities to engage with projects still in development.

Programme highlights:

  • Sound, Colour, Perception: a session examining how our experience of sound is affected by color, environment and deep listening practices.

  • Music for Small Actions: a participatory experiment exploring how rhythm, ritual and collective movement shape everyday lives.

  • Dialogues on Sound and Human Connection: panel conversations with diverse speakers, approaching sound through the lenses of science, architecture, wellness and communal experience.

  • Ambient City - Bangkok: a live performance reimagining the rhythms and daily pulse of Bangkok as an evolving ambient composition.

  • Screenings of ‘The Insect Musicians’ by Nick Dwyer alongside listening experiences including ‘Napping Music’ and ‘Music for Rest Rooms’.

  • Installations and exhibitions throughout the venue opening up the creative world of Sonic Minds through field recordings, research materials, graphic scores, essays, sketches, and evolving works developed across Wonderfruit and beyond.
